In 1992, David Selby appeared in the television miniseries Lady Boss, based on the Jackie Collins novel of the same name. The central character is Lucky Santangelo, portrayed by Kim Delaney. Martin Swanson, David's character, is part of one of the miniseries' subplots. Swanson is a tycoon who carries on an affair with Venus Maria, a Madonna-type character portrayed by Beth Toussaint. Yvette Mimieux plays Deena, Swanson's suspicious wife.
